The Kogi State government has said
that development of agriculture and other critical sectors of the
economy is his administration’s major concern.
Governor Idris Wada who stated this
in Lokoja shortly after returning from South Africa, where he delivered a
paper, on Agbadu Staple Crops Processing Zone (SCPZ) at the World
Economic Forum, (WEF) on Africa, said his recent trip was already
yielding positive results in the agricultural sector.
He said some foreign investors have
indicated interest in the establishment of a stable crop processing zone
at Agbadu, adding that he was able to educate the business community on
the abundant investment opportunities in the state.
Wada said the trip was on the
invitation of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, which according to
him has seen Kogi State’s efforts and determination in agricultural
revolution.
According to him, the state has already keyed into the dry season rice farming programme of the Federal Government.
