President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday described the late strongman of Kwara politics and Second Republic Senate Leader, Dr. Olusola Abubakar Saraki, as a “consummate politician, astute grass roots mobiliser, political colossus, with overwhelming power of political organisation.”

In a tribute tweeted by Jonathan’s spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, the president expressed sadness at Saraki’s passing.
He also said that “the ordinary people of Kwara will always remember the Oloye with great affection.”
In a separate tribute on Facebook, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, wrote, “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return. May Allah grant Dr. Olusola Saraki eternal peace.”
