The remaining survivor of the two suspects that
orchestrated the Boston Marathon bombing, Dhokhar Tsarnaev was formally
charged on 30 counts yesterday.
The bombing of the Boston marathon in April was the worst
mass-casualty attack on U.S. soil since the September 11th attacks in
2001.
According to the US Attorney Carmen Ortiz the Boston Marathon bombing
has forever changed the lives of people in that community as surviving
victims, their families, and the community have shown extraordinary
strength and resilience in the face of this senseless violence.
Charged with planting the bombs that killed three people, it would
recalled that Dhokhar and his elder brother masterminded the Boston
Marathon bombing after which surveillance cameras gave them away to
security operatives as they began their manhunt.
He’s also accused of killing a campus police officer in his efforts to evade arrest and he could face execution if convicted.
Other charges include carjacking and engaging in a gun battle with police during which his elder brother Tamerlan was killed.
Dhokhar Tsarnaev was badly wounded but survived.
