Burkina Faso coach Paul Put and captain Moumouni Dagano were not as disappointed as their Nigerian counterparts after the two teams played a draw last night.
The Stallions were resilient and snatched a last-gasp equalizer against the Super Eagles.
Put, who promised on Sunday that his team would attack the Eagles, felt his boys proved him right, although they did not start creating opportunities until late in the game.
“We matched the Nigerians and we never gave up,” he said. “I’m satisfied
with our performance and this has proved to be a tough group. Nigeria
were difficult but we came away with something and that’s good enough.”
Dagano, one of the most experienced players in the tournament, admitted that the game was not easy.
He said: “The game was very hard and a draw was a good result. All the teams in the group have shown they are strong.”
