Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has praised his players despite their disappointing draw with Burkina Faso in an Africa Cup of Nations Group C game in Mbobela last night.

“Nothing will let our heads drop,” Keshi said defiantly. “I’m proud of the boys. They did they could and were unlucky to concede a late goal. That was our fourth game as a collective in the last 25 or so days and we’re still building this team.
“I’m not going to blame any of them for the result. I’ll let them sleep tonight then talk to them individually and collectively tomorrow.”

Keshi promised that the team would be ready for Zambia on Friday.
“The next game against Zambia is very important and we’ll psyche the boys up for it.”
Meanwhile, Keshi has explained Victor Moses’ absence from the 1-1 draw with Burkina Faso last night.

Moses was expected to start but the Chelsea winger was an unused substitute as the Eagles gave away a late equalizer.
“He picked up a slight hamstring injury in our last practice game and we put him on light training to get him fit,” Keshi explained.

“But he felt the hamstring two days ago and we didn’t want to risk him.”
The coach is optimistic the former Wigan winger is on his way to full recovery.
“He’ll be fit for Zambia. Moses is an important player for us, but we can’t risk him if he’s not fully fit.”
