Investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday exchanged 364.22 million shares worth N3.89 billion in 6,034 deals.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the volume of shares traded declined by 15.14 per cent from the 429.18 million shares valued at N5.73 billion exchanged in 6,408 deals on Thursday.

The All-Share Index improved by 878.1 points or 2.41 per cent to close at 37,350.53 against the 36,472.43 posted on Thursday following price gains by blue chip stocks.

The market capitalisation ,which opened at N11.66 trillion, appreciated by N281 billion or 2.41 per cent to close at N11.94 trillion.

Dangote Cement recorded the highest price gain of N13.20 to close at N184.50 per share.

Cadbury trailed with a gain of N5.85 to close at N64.53, while Glaxo Smithkline rose by N5.10 to close at N58 per share.

Nigerian Breweries inched by N2.13 to close at N172.13, while Lafarge Wapco gained 89k to close at N96.50 per share.

On the other hand, Unilever led the losers' chart, depreciating N4.14 to close at N64.46 per share.

PZ Cussons came second with a loss of N3.88 to close at N51.12, while CAP lost N2.49 to close at N62.51 per share.

Okomu Oil dropped N2 to close at N47.50, while Mobil Oil lost 50k to close at N118 per share.

Unity Bank was the most active with a total of 43.24 million shares worth N28.98 million.

Access Bank came second with 38.63 million shares valued at N438.16 million, while Skye Bank recorded a turnover of 30.97 million shares worth N158.20 million. (NAN)
