Cesc Fabregas has stressed that Barcelona are much more than just a group of talented individuals, and has hailed the Catalans’ desire to be successful in every game they play.

The 25-year-old left Arsenal to return to his boyhood club in the summer of 2011, and he has revealed that the team’s willingness to win was one of the main reasons behind the move after an eight-year spell in the Premier League.

“This is a very competitive team. It’s much more than the talent that’s here, it’s the desire and effort that’s put into each game,” Fabregas was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
“When I played for Arsenal I could see it, and I wanted to experience that. It’s magnificent to be able to be on the pitch with these players.”
The midfielder then briefly reflected on Barca’s 3-0 Copa del Rey win over Alaves on Tuesday, and said he was content with his side’s display.

“We knew that if we didn’t start out strong the game could have become a bit complicated, the team put in a great performance.”
Barcelona resume league action on Saturday when they host Celta Vigo.
