he summer signing has insisted that him and his team-mates will not
underestimate their Europa League opponents after the 1-1 stalemate in
Slovenia two weeks ago
Andre Villas-Boas’ side currently sit third
in Group J after drawing all three of their opening games, including the
stalemate with the Slovenian side in two weeks ago.
And
Dempsey says his fellow professionals will not take Maribor lightly
after the tough showing they faced in matchday three, but is aware that
another slip up will see the club’s future in the competition come under
serious threat..
"[Maribor] scored first, but we showed the
character to get back in the game and put ourselves in a position where
we are still right in there in the group,” Dempsey told Tottenham’s
official website.
"It’s in our hands and that's all you can ask for.
"Everything is still to play for and it’s about taking care of business in the next three games."
A win for Spurs on Thursday would see them rise to second in Group J,
with a trip to Lazio's Olympic Stadium on November 22 before facing
Panathinaikos at home on December 6 to round off the group stage.
