The Nerazzurri are full of self-belief after ending Juventus'
winning streak, but their coach insists they will not underestimate
Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League
Victory over Juventus ended the Old Lady's 49-match unbeaten run in Serie A and moved the Nerazzurri to within just a point of the league leaders.
But,
regardless of the magnitude of that win, Stramaccioni is adamant his
side will remain focused and not take their eye of the ball against
Partizan Belgrade on Thursday.
"Our heads aren’t spinning after the win against the Bianconeri," he told reporters.
"Obviously
Saturday’s victory gave us confidence, but we’ve only played 11 matches
and all it takes is one or two bad results for us to find ourselves
back where we were before.
"We’re keeping our feet on the ground
because we still haven’t done anything yet, and we’re thinking about
advancing from our group in the Europa League."
The 36-year-old
has enjoyed a fine start to his first senior coaching role, following a
successful period in charge of the club's youth team and he believes his
early fortune is down to one small factor.
"I believe our
little secret, the one that’s been with us so far, is having faced every
match with great commitment. I’m not interested in talking about the
past; right now it’s all about Partizan."
